Will 25MB always look good?
For clips under 2-3 minutes at 1080p or 720p, yes — 25MB gives enough bitrate headroom for clean motion and detail. Longer clips get downscaled automatically to protect quality; you'll see the final resolution before you download.
Does this upload my video anywhere?
No. The entire compression runs inside your browser using WebAssembly. WavyVid's server never receives your file — you can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it'll still work.
What if my video can't reach 25MB without looking bad?
WavyVid will tell you plainly and suggest the smallest size that still holds up, rather than silently handing you a blurry file.
Is there a file size limit to upload?
No hard cap, but very large files (500MB+) take longer and use more of your device's memory — you'll get a heads-up before processing starts.
Why does 25MB specifically matter for email?
Gmail and most other providers cap attachments around 25MB before they either bounce the message or silently swap it for a shareable link. Targeting that number directly avoids both.
